In 2017, XFR began a partnership (ongoing!) with the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) to build a video and audio transfer station at their new studio space in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan. Part of our partnership consisted of identifying the components needed for purchase, building and wiring the new transfer rack, and creating documentation (i.e. a thorough user manual). You can read the full initial partnership statement here.
XFR Collective member-at-large Mary Kidd created a 16-page zine to provide an easy-to-follow guide to what a transfer station is, exactly. Check out the free PDF version: XFR METRO Zine – 2017 [Will open in a new tab]
